Domaine Dawnelle is a young family's uncompromising dedication to the classic cool climate varietals Riesling, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
At the head of this small family vineyard is viticulturist and winemaker Michael O’Brien. Years of training and experience inform his 'all hands' approach: everything is carefully hand harvested, ferments are hand plunged, the Pinots are manually basket pressed and gravity is utilised for wine movements.
Highlights from the winery include their exclusive Pinot d’Or, the only white Pinot Noir to come out of Tasmania, and their Vineyard Designate Series of Pinot Noir. In this series, the wines are defined by terroir, the different sub-regions in Southern Tasmania from where the fruit is sourced, including D'Entrecasteaux Channel, Huon Valley and a soon to be released Upper Derwent Valley.
