Try Tasmania’s very own award-winning paella!
Casa Paella’s chef Edrick was awarded 5th place in 2012 and 4th place in 2013 in the Concurso Internacional de Paella Valenciana – Spain, and the world’s, most prestigious paella competition. Winning one of the eight awards each year demonstrates prowess as a leading international paella chef. For his promotion and expertise with paella, Edrick was appointed Embajador de la Paella Valenciana de Sueca en el Pacifico (Valencia’s Paella Ambassador to the Pacific) in 2017, which is similar to being awarded a Chef's Hat. That same year he was invited to be a member of the Judging Panel in Valencia at the contest; the first time a non-Valencian has been a judge at this contest.
In 2015 he was awarded the Tetsuya Wakuda Excellence Award, Best Dish of Taste of Tasmania, for his newly created Tasmanian dish, Paella de Mariscos Estilo de Tasmania (Seafood Paella Tasmanian Style) which showcases Tasmanian ingredients.
