TASTE OUR ISLAND AND WIN

Our stallholders come to The Taste laden with produce that has been grown and harvested across Tasmania.

From the rich northern pastures, to our pristine southern seas – and all that lays between – our produce is famous the world over as the finest and the freshest.

Take a journey around Tasmania, right here on Hobart’s waterfront, for your chance to win a fabulous daily prize.

How to enter:

 

When you arrive on site, head to the information booth for your copy of the Tasting Trail brochure.  Simply name a stallholder and a dish or beverage from each of Tasmania’s four regions. Look out for the sign at the top of each stall that tells you which region the stallholder is from. Drop your entry into the box to go into the draw for the following prizes:

Competition Terms and Conditions
  1. Information on how to enter and the prize forms part of these conditions of entry. Entry into the competition is deemed acceptance of these conditions of entry.
  2. The promotion commences on 11.00 (EST) 28 December 2016 and concludes on 3 January 2017 at 19:00 (EST).
  3. The Promoter is the Hobart City Council, 16 Elizabeth Street, Hobart Tasmania 7000 ABN 39 055 343 428.
  4. The period of the competition is as follows:
  • 11 am to 7 pm Thursday 29 December and Friday 30 December.
  • 11 am to 3 pm Saturday 31 December.
  • 11 am to 7 pm Sunday 1 January, Monday 2 January and Tuesday 3 January 2017 (‘promotional period’).
  1. Entry is made by completing the original printed Tasting Trail Competition form (“Competition Form”) that is available from the Taste information booth, on site at The Taste of Tasmania event (‘the Event’).
  2. To enter, individuals must name one dish or one beverage from each of the four nominated regions that have been identified on the Competition Form and maps located on each individual stall at the Event.
  3. To qualify, the identified dish should include the brand name of the stallholder as showing on the stall and the name of the dish as showing on the menu; and the identified beverage should include the brand name of the stallholder as showing on the stall and the name of the beverage as showing on the menu.
  4. Entries submitted on photocopies or any other reproduction of the original, printed Competition Form will be deemed ineligible.
  5. The competition is open to all The Taste of Tasmania patrons 18 years of age or over.
  6. Individuals may enter as many times as they wish on any single day of the Tasting Trail Competition but they are only eligible to win once.
  7. Should a previous winner be drawn a second or subsequent time, their winning entry will be discounted and a further draw will be undertaken for a new daily winner.
  8. A winning entry will be drawn at random at 7 pm on every day of the Tasting Trail Competition, with the exception of Saturday 31 December when a winning entry will be drawn at 3 pm (see clause 3).
  9. Once the daily winner has been drawn (see clause 10), the entry box will be emptied, after which, a new entry box will be started for each subsequent day of the Tasting Trail Competition.

Wednesday 28 December 2016:

A Bruny Island Traveller Cruise for two adults, courtesy of Pennicott Wilderness Journeys, valued at $310.

Thursday 29 December 2016:

Three nights’ accommodation for two at Palana Retreat, Flinders Island, valued at $555.

Friday 30 December 2016:

A kayaking tour of the Hobart waterfront for two, courtesy of Roaring 40s Kayaking, valued at $180.

Saturday 31 December 2017:

One night’s accommodation for two, including afternoon tea on arrival and breakfast at Ambience on Huon Bed & Breakfast, Wattle Grove, valued at $220.

Sunday 1 January 2017:

Dinner for four people at Mures Upper Deck, Constitution Dock, Hobart, to the value of $400.

Monday 2 January 2017:

Two nights in a cabin for two adults and two children at the Big 4 Iluka Holiday Park, Coles Bay, valued at $348.

Tuesday 3 January 2017:

A Cataract Gorge cruise for four adults and four children, valued at $140 and four adult vouchers to Platypus House, Beauty Point, valued at $100.

  1. Entries will be deemed to be accepted at the time of receipt. Incomplete, incorrect or incomprehensible entries will be deemed invalid. No responsibility will be taken for lost, late or misdirected entries.
  2. The winner from each daily draw will be contacted by telephone within seven (7) days. If an entry draw does not have a full or correct telephone number, a second draw may be completed.
  3. The winners’ names will be published on The Taste of Tasmania website and on its Facebook page.
  4. The prizes must be taken as offered. Prize values are GST inclusive and are in Australian dollars.
  5. The prizes are not transferable to any other person/organisation.
  6. The competition winners must agree to have their photo taken, which may be published via City of Hobart promotional channels.
  7. Employees and their immediate families of the City of Hobart, event stallholders, event performers, event sponsors and suppliers associated with The Taste of Tasmania and this promotion are ineligible to enter.
  8. The City of Hobart will take the necessary steps to ensure that any personal information provided by entrants in this competition remains confidential and is only used for the purposes of this competition. The City of Hobart will not sell, trade or make available your personal information to others.
  9. The Promoter’s decision in relation to any aspects of the competition is final and binding on every person who enters and no correspondence will be entered into.
  10. In the event that for any reason whatsoever a winner does not take an element of the prize at the time stipulated by the Promoter then that element of the prize will be forfeited by the winner.
  11. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any prize/s except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. The Promoter will not be responsible for any incorrect, inaccurate or incomplete information communicated in the course of or in connection with this promotion if the deficiency is occasioned by any cause outside the reasonable control of the Promoter including without limitation technical malfunctions or failures.
  12. The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who the Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these conditions, or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the promotion. The Promoter’s legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.
  13. All entries become the property of the Promoter. The Promoter collects personal information about you to enable you to participate in this promotion but no further use of this information will be made. To facilitate your participation, the Promoter may disclose your personal information to other companies associated with this promotion. If you do not provide your personal information, the Promoter will not be able to enter you into this promotion.
  14. If for any reason this promotion is not capable of running as planned, due to any causes beyond the control of the Promoter, which affect the administration security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process.
  15. In the case of the intervention of any outside agent or event which naturally changes the result or prevents or hinders its determination, including but not limited to vandalism, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest or strikes, the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the event and recommence it from the start on the same conditions subject to State Regulation.
