Accessible Parking and Drop Off Area
To secure an accessible car parking space, please call (03) 6238 2410. Parking permits will be required from Friday 27 December. A drop off area will also be available for families, older people and people with disabilities. Drivers will then need to find a place to park permanently.
Information and Ticketing Booths
At The Taste of Tasmania Information Booth, located within the Forecourt of PW1, you can find general information on The Taste of Tasmania including stall information and program details. Next to the Information Booth you will find the Ticketing Booth, where you can book tickets for New Year’s Eve, reserved seating, Taste Food Tours and Tasting Table Tours..
Visitors to Hobart will also find the Information Booth useful in providing advice, maps, guides and bookings for other Hobart and Tasmanian holiday experiences. The Information Booth is staffed by professional Tasmanian travel advisors from the Tasmanian Travel & Information Centre.
The Information Booth will act as a central lost children and meeting location, with appropriate signage to assist family members locate one another. Visit the Information Booth to collect a wristband or sticker, which you can update with your contact details and attach to your child. If your child gets lost, one of our friendly staff or security team members will be able to contact you quickly.
Medical Edge Australia will provide a first aid station on Salamanca Lawns as well as roaming event first aid staff.
Way Out Donations
This year we invite you to help make The Taste of Tasmania more sustainable. If you enjoyed your experience there will be donation points located in the PW1 Forecourt for your contributions.
Bring a drink bottle or use your own Taste glass to access free drinking water from water trailers located on Parliament House Lawns and Salamanca Lawns. Bottled water will be available for purchase from roaming Hartz water vendors and all Cascade Taste of Tasmania bars.
Responsible Service of Alcohol & Voluntary Breath Testing
The Taste of Tasmania is committed to safe drinking practices. All staff serving alcohol are trained in RDA and will not serve anyone who is under the age of 18 years, or any person who appears to be intoxicated.
Voluntary breath testing will be provided courtesy of the Road Safety Advisory Council in the PW1 Forecourt daily between the hours of 12noon and 4pm, and 6pm to 9.30pm.
Alcohol in Public Places
The Taste of Tasmania is a licensed event site, however the event site at Parliament House Lawns must be alcohol free at all times. Consumpton of alcohol in other inner city parks is prohibited between 3pm and 10am (10 December – 1 January) and 10pm to to 10am at other times, with the exception of St David’s Park and Franklin Square where alcohol is prohibited 24 hours a day.
Get your free sunscreen from the Cancer Council Tasmania tent in the PW1 Forecourt. Cancer Council Tasmania volunteers will also be roaming at the event and will provide sunscreen and information on the work being done in our community.
Temporary Police Station
The Temporary Police Station is an initiative of the Safer Hobart Community Partnership, and will operate near Salamanca Lawns from 10am to 1am daily during the event.
